Gite du Renclos is situated on the edge of the village of Pisany in the centre of Charente Maritime. Pisany is well placed for all facilities needed to enjoy a holiday in a warm climate; a climate which rivals Mediterranean resorts of the South of France in the Summer.

The nearest town of significance is Saintes, just 10km East of Pisany. It has daily Markets as well as a monthly market which takes over the whole town. Saintes offers a full range of shops, restaurants and bars, and boat trips on the Charente -which flows through the town. With excellent examples of Roman architecture and a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre, Saintes is a wonderful town to spend time sight seeing.

Cognac is 30km South-East of Pisany. Also situated on the River Charente, offers the same sort of extensive facilities as Saintes but with the added attraction of a number of Cognac houses - Martell, Hennessey, Otard and nearby Remy Martin.

The best beaches in France are a mere 20km West of Pisany starting with the extensive sandy beaches of St Georges de Didonne. Others such as Royan, St Palais Sur Mer & La Palmyre are a little further up this fantastic coast and must not be missed.

La Palmyre has a very impressive zoo which both children and adults can enjoy.
